Big Energy Upgrade....ERDF European Regional Development Fund

WNWHL(leeds City Council)
 Cladding New Wortley scheme alterations
and scheme omissions.
More details are now emerging on the cladding scheme in New Wortley and the original works planned seem to have somewhat changed. It appears now the the facias and guttering will not be included at this point in time...although the vertical drain pipes. So it does appear that the scheme in its present format is a mismatch.Whether the scheme in its present format will address the issues and make all the houses anyway near thermally efficent is highly unlikely.

The Wimpey no Fines properties (houses) on the estate are of four types. The four bedroom houses and the small two bedroom houses have wooden front hall extensions and the heat loss from these would still need addressing for the houses to become truly thermally efficent.
The three bedroom and the large two bedrooms houses do not have these wooden hall extensions and just have a canopy over the front door(not back doors)....more details on dedicated page click weblink below.

open space since the legal removal  of the travellers’ during  the summer of 2010
….last year there were reports of human and animal waste and fly tipping on the site..
animals roaming free unaccompanied and vehicles driving on pavements and pedestrian
only areas.

A survey by Leeds City Council In late January found nearly 2,000 drivers- 1,941
in total-  illegally cutting into city centre bus lanes over three days in the same week.
The vast majority of these offences took place during the morning rush from 7.30-9am,
holding up buses full of commuters and other passengers.

I
n one case- along the Wellington Road lane adjacent to Clyde Approach- 572 drivers were
seen to break the law on the same day by using the bus lane.
This issue was highlighted by residents at a P.A.C.T meeting with the New wortley Police Team last year as a priority project... the New wortley Residents also endure rat running on Clyde Approach.Cllr Richard Lewis, Leeds City Council executive member for development, said: “The extent of the abuse of bus lanes by motorists is shocking and this behaviour is against the law.
